{"id":31,"date":"2024-02-14T09:12:47","date_gmt":"2024-02-14T17:12:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kitsapcooks.com\/?page_id=31"},"modified":"2024-03-27T14:01:35","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T21:01:35","slug":"simple-balsamic-vinegar-reduction","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.kitsapcooks.com\/?page_id=31","title":{"rendered":"Simple Balsamic Vinegar Reduction"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h5>By: Rachel Beason, Kitsap Community Resources<\/h5>\r\n<p>Makes 1\/4 cup<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>From the Toolbox:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Measuring Cups<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Measuring Spoons<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Small Saucepan<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Wooden Spoon<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Good quality balsamic vinegar<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Sugar<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Measure 1\/2 cup balsamic vinegar into the small saucepan.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Stir in 1 tablespoon sugar until it dissolves.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Heat the vinegar and sugar over medium heat to a low simmer.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Continue to simmer until the vinegar is reduced by half, usually just under ten minutes.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The reduction should be very dark and syrupy, coating a spoon and having an intense aroma and flavor.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Use on salad, with fruit, or on broiled or grilled chicken, lamb, fish, or vegetables.
